A delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro consisting of Chairperson of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget Mr Predrag Sekulić and member of the Committee Mr Raško Konjević took part in European Parliamentary Week 2019, which was held on 18 and 19 February 2019, in the European Parliament, Brussels.
The European Parliamentary Week 2019, organised by the EP and Romanian Parliament, within parliamentary dimension of Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU, consisted of the European Semester Conference and the Interparliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the European Union.
On day one of the conference, a session was held on the topic “How has the European Semester for economic policy coordination worked in practice until today?”. On day two of the conference, three sessions were held on the following topics: “Convergence, stabilisation and cohesion in EMU: What role for a euro area budget?”, “Euro at 20 years: The road ahead”, and “Investment priorities for the post-2020 period”.
The participants in the two-day event were addressed by Mr Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament, pointing out that the European Parliamentary Week was the biggest event of this kind organised by the EP during the year, and that this year’s event was an opportunity for 123 MPs from 27 national EU parliament, 5 parliaments from candidate countries and 2 parliaments from observer countries to discuss the topics relating to economic, budget and social issues.
