In line with Article 75 of the parliamentary Rules of Procedure, the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget held a control hearing of the Tax Administration Director, on the topic: “Tax Administration's work in the field of tax debt supervision and collection”.
At the 105th Meeting of 24 February 2020, the Committee adopted a decision on the control hearing of Tax Administration Director Mr Miomir M. Mugoša on the said topic. Control hearing (107th Meeting) was scheduled on 16 March 2020, but it was postponed due to the situation caused by COVID 19 pandemic. Bearing in mind the aforementioned, the Tax Administration delivered on 11 March 2020 written information regarding the topic of the hearing. The updated information was delivered on 17 June 2020.
In line with the parliamentary Rules of Procedure, Mr Danilo Jovanović, Acting Assistant Director of the Sector for Operations in the Field of Collection within the Tax Administration, attended the meeting without the right to take part in discussion.
The Tax Administration Director informed the Committee on: activities of the Tax Administration in the field of supervision and collection of tax debt; the amount of tax debt and the effects of the implementation of the Law on Rescheduling Tax Receivables; collection of tax revenues in the period from 2016 to the end of 2019; trends in tax collection in the first quarter of 2020 and in the period since the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic; tax debts of religious communities; the state of tax debt in local self-governments and companies with majority ownership of the state/local government, etc.
During the discussion, they talked about the importance of the Tax Administration's role in the public finance system, tax discipline, implemented measures and activities on the introduction of electronic fiscalisation, whose beginning is planned for 2021; control of taxpayers, with a focus on the so-called. e-commerce; tax debt structures; development of the information system of the Tax Administration, etc.
