Public Debate of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms on the occasion of marking the International Roma Day

The Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro will hold a public debate on the occasion of marking the International Roma Day with the topic "Activism leading to change: Social inclusion of Roma through education, training and employment - Analysis of the situation and planned activities for the purpose of comprehensive integration of Roma in society". The public debate will be held in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro on Monday, 8 April, at 13:00.

Bearing in mind that the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, in accordance with its responsibilities established by the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro, has paid special attention in the previous period to protecting the rights of members of the Roma and Egyptian population in Montenegro, this debate will provide for the opportunity to exchange experiences and opinions, but also to summarise the results of previous activities in the field of Roma inclusion.

In addition, there is a plan to present activities that the competent authorities, in cooperation with international partners and NGOs, are going to undertake in order to improve the position of Roma and their comprehensive integration into Montenegrin society.
