Also, chairpersons and members of the Gender Equality Committee, Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports and Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare as well as Head of the UNICEF Office to Montenegro Mr Benjamin Perks attended the meeting.

Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedom Mr Halil Duković said that the Committee implemented, in cooperation with the UNICEF, significant and numerous activities with regard to promoting and protecting rights of the child, with a special emphasis on the protection of children against all forms of exploitations - abuse via the Internet, sexual abuse and economic exploitation.  

Mr Perks said that the second phase of the campaign “End Violence Against Children” would conducted in Montenegro during the following months. The campaign will be devoted to protection of children from domestic violence and corporal punishment.   He stressed that Montenegro has undertaken international obligation to be among leaders in the Global Partnership to End Violence against Children

Dr Nadine Burke Harris informed parliamentarians on scientific findings indicating how adversary childhood experience affect the life of every person. She said that there were three critical categories of adversary childhood experiences, namely: abuse, neglect and dysfunctional household, which can be divided into ten subcategories.

MPs thanked to Dr Nadine Burke Harris for the extraordinary lecture where they learnt about new scientific findings on the impact of adversary traumatic childhood experiences on health problems in later development and manner of solving such problems. They particularly thanked to the Head of the UNICEF Office to Montenegro, who, by his commitment and activities has been significantly contributing to improving the position of children and protection of their rights in Montenegro.
