Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms holds its 58th Meeting

At its 58th Meeting held today, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms considered the 2019 Status Report on Personal Data Protection and Access to Information.

Following the discussion, the Committee supported by a majority of votes the 2019 Status Report on Personal Data Protection and Access to Information, and it submit a Report with the Proposed Conclusion thereof to the Parliament.

The Committee adopted two information notes on the activities of the Chairman and members of the Committee in March 2020:

- Information note on the visit of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms to the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions - juvenile prison and female unit, taken on 2 March 2020 and

- Information note on the meeting of Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms Mr Halil Duković with the delegation of the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA), held in Podgorica on 5 March 2020.

Within the current issues, members of the Committee learned about the official letters of the Council for Civilian Control of Police Operations, submitted to the Committee in the period from 17 February to 14 May 2020.

Also, UN Human Rights Adviser Ms Anjet Lanting informed that UN Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially in women and children Ms Maria Grazia Giammarinaro will present a report at the session of the UN Human Rights Council, which will be held from 15 June to 3 July 2020 on her visit to Montenegro, held in November 2019.
