At the Seventh Meeting held on 1 June 2017, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms considered the Proposal for the Law on amendments to the Law on Non-Governmental Organisations and amendments (2) to the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Non-Governmental Organisations, submitted by MPs Ms Marta Šćepanović and Mr Halil Duković.
During the continuation of the Seventh Meeting of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, held on 2 June 2017, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, as a lead committee, unanimously decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt a conclusion with regard to the Proposal for the Law on amendments to the Law on Non-Governmental Organisations, by which the Parliament of Montenegro would urge the Government of Montenegro and responsible ministry to:
- when drafting bylaws of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Non-Governmental Organisations, define the principle of affirmative actions towards organisations of persons with disabilities in comparison to other non-governmental organisations during the competition and support projects in the field of protection of persons with disabilities; and
- consult and involve representatives of persons with disabilities in all stages of the process, in accordance with the regulations governing cooperation between the Government and NGOs.
