Montenegro needs to continue with good efforts aimed at implementing reforms in order to maintain good dynamics in the EU accession process - this is a joint conclusion from the separate meetings of Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mr Andrija Nikolić and ambassadors of the Kingdom of Denmark Mr Anders Hougard and Kingdom of Belgium H.E. Leo D'aes, in Belgrade.
Expressing gratitude for the Danish and Belgian support to Montenegro in the process of NATO accession, Mr Nikolić said that now our country was counting on even stronger support from Copenhagen and Brussels in overcoming the remaining challenges on our road to the European integration.
Speaking about progress in the negotiation process with Brussels, Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mr Andrija Nikolić sad that Montenegro saw the negotiations as a two-way process in which partners discuss open issues and exchange arguments about them in order to find common responses to all challenges.
The meetings discussed expert assistance of Denmark and Belgium in the fight against organised crime and corruption, the state of the Montenegrin media scene, as well as the necessity for improving inter-parliamentary cooperation, particularly through intensifying communication at the level of parliamentary working bodies.
On day two of visit of Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mr Andrija Nikolića, the meetings with the following ambassadors will be held: Republic of Portugal H.E. Augusto José Pestana Saraiva Peixot, Kingdom of the Netherlands H.E. Henkom Van den Dool, Kingdom of Spain Nj.E. Mr Miguel Fuertes Suarez and Canada Kathleen Csaba.
During his visit to Serbia, Chairperson of the Committee Mr Nikolić will visit Sremski Karlovci, where he will have a meeting with representatives of associations and organisations of emigrants living and working in the Republic of Serbia.
