Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants sends congratulations on Victory Day

Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mr Andrija Nikolić has sent a congratulatory message to Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Mr Aivo Orav and EU ambassadors in Montenegro:

“Your Excellency,

Allow me to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Europe Day and Victory Day, both on behalf of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants and the Parliament of Montenegro.

In the time when our continent is fighting the global pandemic caused by coronavirus, which is threatening our lives and economic development, we are marking one of the most important dates in the history of Europe. In the jubilee year, when we are proudly celebrating the 75th anniversary of the victory over fascism and the 70th anniversary of the Schumann Declaration, we are remembering the era when the European Union had opened the process of reconciliation and unification on the European continent, providing rights and prosperity to citizens of all its members.

Proud of its glorious anti-fascist history, Montenegro today reaffirms its commitment to European values and unwavering desire to improve the quality of life of every one of its citizens.

We are encouraged by the messages of support for the European perspective of our region, sent from the recently held EU-Western Balkans Summit, as well as the rapid reaction of the European Union, in the form of strong financial support to the region.

In the hope that our joint efforts will successfully overcome the current global crisis, and that we will continue to strengthen the idea of a Europe united in diversity taught by the terrible consequences of the ideology of fascism, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration and cordial greetings.

Respectfully,

Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants

Andrija Nikolić”
