At today’s 104th Meeting, the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration has considered the 2019 Annual Report on performance of the Judicial Council and general state of the judiciary, submitted to the Parliament of Montenegro by the Judicial Council of Montenegro.
Representatives of the Judicial Council Ms Vesna Simović-Zvicer, President of the Judicial Council, and Ms Vesna Aćimić, Secretary of the Judicial Council, provided an overview of the judicial situation and data on each court as well as problems and shortcomings in their work. Following a comprehensive discussion, the Committee will submit the proposal for conclusions to the Parliament of Montenegro for adoption with regard to the said Report.
Under the second supplemented item of the agenda, the Committee supported, by majority of votes, the Proposal for the Law on Amnesty of Persons Sentenced for Criminal Offences Prescribed by the Laws of Montenegro and Persons Sentenced by Foreign Criminal Verdict which is Served in Montenegro, submitted by a group of MPs.
