At today’s 109th Meeting, the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration has considered and unanimously supported the Proposal for the Law on National Public Broadcaster of Radio and Television of Montenegro and Proposal for the Law on Media, submitted by the Government of Montenegro.
Especially appreciating the significance of the media in modern society, Minister of Culture Mr Aleksandar Bogdanović and Director General of Directorate for Media at the Ministry Mr Željko Rutović, along with their associates, provided in-depth explanations of new institutes provided for in these proposals for laws.
In addition to the representatives of the proposer, the following representatives of the state institutions also participated in the meeting and contributed to the quality of the discussion: Mr Ivan Jovetić, President of the Council of the RTCG and Mr Ranko Vujović, President of the Council of the Agency for Electronic Media, as well as representatives of the NGO sector Ms Daliborka Uljarević and Ms Tamara Milaš, Centre for Civic Education; Mr Milan Radović, Civic Alliance; Mr Vuk Maraš, Media Association of SEE, and Ms Jelena Popović, Association of Professional Journalists of Montenegro.
The Committee members had the opportunity to give comments and pose questions to the authorised proposers in order to define as good as possible legal solutions.
