At today's meeting, the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration has unanimoulsly adopted the Proposal for the conclusions of the Committee regarding the 2019 Annual Performance Report of the Judicial Council and the overall status of the judiciary. The Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration considered the Annual Performance Report at its 104th Meeting of 21 April 2020, in the capacity of a line committe.
Today’s meeting also adopted the Proposal for assessments and positions regarding the consultative hearing (debate) on the topic: “Challenges in the fields of judiciary reform and public administration and further building of track record”. At its 106th Meeting of 27 July 2020, the Committee held the said consultative hearing, where the representatives of the following state authorities took part: Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Public Administration, European Integration Office, Prosecutorial Council, as well as representatives of the civil sector. The Proposal for assessments and positions will be sent to the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Public Administration.
In addition, the Committee approved the Proposal for a Decision on the election of four members of the Judicial Council from among respectable lawyers, therefore it has proposed to the Parliament to elect Mr Gavrilo Čabarkapa, Mr Ibrahim Huseinović, Ms Lidija Kovačević and Ms Ljubinka Popović-Kustudić as four members of the Judicial Council from among respectable lawyers.
