Chairperson and member of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports visit two educational institutions in Bar

On 4 October 2018, Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports Mr Radule Novović and member of the Committee Ms Branka Tanasijević visited Niko Rolović Grammar School and Blažo Jokov Orlandić Primary School, in Bar.

The aim of the visit is to provide an opportunity for the Committee to learn about the various experiences in the implementation of education system reform in Montenegro.

Representatives of the Committee talked with the school principas about the current problems faced by educational workers in their day-to-day work, primarily about the condition of the facilities in which educational institutions are located, the overload of certain educational institutions, on the one hand, and on the other, the existence of excess spatial capacities in individual educational institutions, the status of educational workers, the necessity of continuous education of staff, and good communication with the umbrella departmental institutions.

After touring the said schools, Chairperson of the Committee Mr Radule Novović and member of the Committee Ms Branka Tanasijević met President of the Local Assembly of Bar Ms Tanja Spičanović. The meeting discussed the contribution that the Municipality provides to pupils and their parents, for many years, in the form of financing the transportation of students from the territory of the municipality, in the annual amount of € 210,000. Also, Deputy President of the Local Assembly informed the representatives of the Committee about a number of started and announced activities in the field of education, such as the construction of a new kindergarten and a day care centre for children with developmental difficulties and the renovation of two gymnasiums.
