Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports holds its 48th meeting

Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights considered

At the 48th meeting that was held today, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports considered the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, submitted by the Government of Montenegro.

Introductory remarks and the explanatory statement to the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights were delivered by Ms Biljana Jakić, Director General of the Directorate for Internal Market and Competition in the Ministry of Economy, as the authorised representative of the proposer of the act. The meeting was also attended by Mr Nebojša Mugoša, Head of the Directorate for Normative Affairs and International Cooperation in the Field of Intellectual Property at the Directorate for Internal Market and Competition in the Ministry of Economy.

The Committee unanimously decided to introduce two amendments to the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, agreed with by the representative of the proposer, and amendments become an integral part of this proposal for the law, pursuant to Article 150 paragraph 3 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro.

Obtaining majority of votes, the Committee decided to endorse this Proposal for the Law and propose its adoption by the Parliament of Montenegro.

Within the item of current issues, members of the Committee were informed about an initiative, as well as with the activities to be implemented in the period ahead. In addition, the Committee reached the decision on the engagement of a consultant.
