About
The Women’s MP Group at the Parliament of Montenegro is an informal parliamentary body consisting of female members of the 27th Parliament of Montenegro.
Goals and principles of the MP Group are as follows:
- promotion of gender equality on all decision-making levels;
- encouragement of women to participate more in political and public life;
- improvement of the position of women in all areas of society; and
- encouragement and advancing of solidarity and humanity, promotion of volunteerism and mutual assistance.
In order to achieve its goals, the MP Group has the following tasks:
- to improve the legislative framework relating to the promotion of gender equality in all decision-making positions and in all areas of society;
- to improve the legislative framework relating to combating gender-based violence;
- to improve legal regulations and the environment for the socio-economic empowerment of women;
- to improve legal regulations and the environment for equal position of women in the labour market;
- to improve legal regulations and the environment for better healthcare for women, especially those in rural areas;
- to improve the legislative framework in order to stimulate solidarity, humanity and volunteerism; and
- other tasks it deems necessary, or useful for achieving goals.
The MP Group is run by the Collegium, consisting of female representatives of the parliamentary MP groups.
