Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, composed of Mr Mišo Stanišić and Mr Genci Nimanbegu, is participating in the 63rd Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, taking place in Bucharest, Romania from 6 to 9 October 2017, and the host of the event is the Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Romania to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Day one of the 63rd Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly began with the meeting of the secretaries of delegations during which, for the purpose of the successful organisation of the meeting, the participants were provided detailed information of organisational and technical character, instructions were given for the successful implementation of the Annual NATO Session of NATO and the activities of the committees planned for the upcoming period.
On this occasion, the attention of the participants was also drawn to informing about the undertaken activities in the preparation of the Spring and Annual Sessions of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in 2018 and the meeting of the Standing Committee planned for March next year.
The NATO PA Coordination Meeting followed, attended by members of the Bureau, Committee and Sub Committee Chairpersons and Rapporteurs.
With its 63rd Annual Session, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, since its inception, has provided for a forum for the establishment of an international parliamentary dialogue on current security issues and issues of political, social and economic character in this respect.
Bearing in mind the above, the annual sessions of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly represent the highest range of activities of this organisation during which delegates, on the basis of conducted discussions and exchange of opinions, adopt drafts of reports and other acts and establish dialogues on current topics in the field of security.
63rd Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly brings together more than 50 national parliamentary delegations, representatives of member states, associated countries, regional partner and Mediterranean associated countries and observers, as well as guests from Romania and abroad.
During this Session, the discussion will focus on the most important topics in the field of international security and issues thus related, the proposals of reports of committees that were discussed during the Spring Session held in May 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia, and political recommendations formulated in this respect.
