Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Istanbul

Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić and Mr Ranko Krivokapić, members of the Standing Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, will participate in the work of the 62nd Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, in the period 18- 21 November 2016.

 

This meeting will be hosted by the Delegation of the Republic of Turkey to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. This year session brings together around 260 members of national parliaments from the 28 Allies form America and the European Union as well as partner countries, observers and organisations. They will discuss current security issues and draft reports of the committees of the Parliamentary Assembly.

The following five committees of the NATO PA will held its meetings on Saturday and Sunday (19 and 20 November): Political, Defence and Security Committee, Science and Technology Committee, Committee on the Civil Dimension of Security and Economics and Security Committee.  During the meetings, the delegates will be addressed by representative of governments, academic community, NGO sector and NATO. 

At the plenary session of 21st November, the participants will be addressed by President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mr Michael Turner, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey İsmail Kahraman, President of the Republic of Turkey Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan, OSCE PA President Mr Christine Muttonen and NATO Secretary General and Chairman of the North Atlantic Council Mr Jens Stoltenberg.
