NATO PA Spring Standing Committee Meeting was held in Zagreb, Croatia, on 30 March 2019, and the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Croatia to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly assumed the role of the host of the meeting, on this occasion.
In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, the Meeting is attended by representatives of the NATO Member States, namely the heads of permanent delegations, members of the Bureau and chairmen of the committees, and the Permanent delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly was on this occasion composed of Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić, Head of the delegation, and Mr Genci Nimanbegu, member of the delegation.
The meeting was aimed, among other things, on planning the upcoming activities of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, consideration of the Draft Declarations and Reports to be discussed during the forthcoming Spring Session, as well as series of financial documents covering the work of the Parliamentary Assembly. The attention of participants was, on this occasion, dedicated also to the issue of amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly.
The attention of participants was also dedicated to the issues of membership of the Republic of North Macedonia in the North Atlantic community, in the context of the ratification of the Protocol on Accession and procedures, and the representation of gender equality issues in the activities of the NATO PA during 2018.
The Meeting was opened by the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Ms Madeleinne Moon from the United Kingdom. After the introductory speech, the work of the meeting, according to the established agenda, began with consideration and voting by delegates on the Draft Minutes from the meeting of this working body of 18 November 2018, during the 64th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in Halifax, Canada.
In the part of the Standing Committee Meeting dedicated to the issues of future activities of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, a review of the schedule of sessions of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly was presented, as well as of meetings of the Standing Committee.
The Head of the Permanent Delegation, Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić, met with Professor of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Zagreb, Mr Radovan Vukadinović, on the margins of the meeting.
