On day four of the session, 3 June 2019, a plenary sitting was held, during which the participants were addressed by the following: Ms Madeleine Moon, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly; Mr Andrej Kiska, President of the Slovak Republic; Mr Béla Bugár, Deputy Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic; Ms Denisa Saková, Minister of Interior of the Slovak Republic; Mr George Tsereteli, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly; and then Ambassador Alejandro Alvargonzález, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy at NATO, followed by a discussion based on the questions asked by the participants in the sitting.
Then the participants in the Plenary Sitting were presented the Report by the Treasurer of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mr Marc Angel, followed by the delegates’ vote on this financial document.
The NATO PA Spring Session gathered the representatives of parliaments of member states from the North America and Europe, associate and partner states, observer states, and other relevant representatives, with a goal discussing common security issues of international nature.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly, since its inception, has been using this event to provide a forum for establishing international parliamentary dialogue on the current security issues and related issues of political and social nature. During the session, the discussions were primarily focussed on current issues from the field of international security and other related issues, and there were debates on the committees’ draft reports which will be subject to consideration during the upcoming 65th Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro, which took part in the Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, consisted of Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić and Mr Genci Nimanbegu.
