Montenegrin Ambassador to Macedonia Mr Predrag Mitrović organised the meeting between Mr Mišo Stanišić and Macedonian Prime Minister Mr Zoran Zaev. On this occasion, Mr Stanišić conveyed his congratulations regarding the decision of the Council of Ministers of the European Union on the progress of Macedonia on its European integration path and the conclusions reached on the possibility of opening the accession negotiations in June 2019. During this conversation, they exchanged views on the current political situation in Macedonia and the undertaken steps, and expressed full support from Montenegro for the host country’s further path of development.

On day one of the 98th Rose Roth Seminar of NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the following had opening addresses: Ilija Dimovski, Head of the Delegation of the Assembly of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to the NATO PA; Talat Xhaferi, President of the Assembly of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia; Paolo Alli, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly; Sybille Suter Tejada, Ambassador of Switzerland to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia; Zoran Zaev, Prime Minister of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
Several topics were discussed at the seminar: “Strengthening the Rule of Law, Reform in the Administration and Judiciary, and Fighting Corruption”, “Good Neighbourly Relations and Stability in the Western Balkans: Building Measures of Mutual Trust”, “Perspectives from the Neighbours”, and “The Migration Crisis and the Balkan Route”.
The seminar gathered about a hundred participants, including parliamentarians from NATO member states, associate and partner countries, senior officials mainly form the host country and representatives of international organisations, non-governmental sector, universities and representatives of public opinion.
This basic aim of this gathering is to provide a forum and to enable dialogue at the parliamentary level on the issues of security among the main legislators of the NATO member states and their counterparts from partner states and to provide the participants with current information on the subject matter.
