On day one of the event, Permanent delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO PA composed of Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić, and Mr Genci Nimanbegu and Permanent Representative of Montenegro to NATO Ambassador Ms Dragana Radulović took part in the meeting with permanent representatives to the North-Atlantic Council.
Head of the Permanent delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić addressed the attendees on this occasion.
During the meeting with permanent representatives to the North-Atlantic Council, attended by the members of the Bureau, the Standing Committee, chairs of the committees and members of delegations from the United States and Canada, topical issues from the field of security and defence were considered.
The first session of the meeting was opened by the Chairperson of the Political Committee Lord Campbell of Pittenweem from the United Kingdom, while welcome remarks were delivered by Ms Madeleine Moon, NATO PA President.
In the continuation, Ambassador Alejandro Alvargonzalez, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, NATO, spoke on NATO’s Political Agenda, which was followed by a discussion of delegates.
Further work of the NATO PA meeting was marked by a panel discussion on Strategic Communication and Euro-Atlantic Security – Challenges and Opportunities, when participants were addressed by Mr Chris Riley, Head of the NATO Strategic Communications Team, Public Diplomacy Division (PDD), and Mr Giles Portman, Head of the East Stratcom Task Force, European External Action Service (EEAS).
