Meeting of the PACE Committee on Equality and Non-discrimination and meeting of the PACE Parliamentary Network Women Free from Violence - 19 and 20 September, Paris

Member of the parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe MP Sanja Pavićević took part in the Meeting of the PACE Committee on Equality and Non-discrimination and meeting of the PACE Parliamentary Network Women Free from Violence, held on 19 and 20 September in Paris.

The key topics at the meeting of the Committee on Equality and Non-discrimination were: combating discrimination in access to employment, adapting the working environment to people with disabilities, introducing the sign language as one of the European official languages, achieving equality between private and family life regardless of sexual orientation, and adopting a strategy to promote gender equality issues in the Parliamentary Assembly.

In addition to the Committee meeting, its Parliamentary Network Women Free from Violence also held a meeting, where, in the presence of the Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO), opinions were exchanged on the achieved results and obstacles in implementing the Istanbul Convention.
