Head of the Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr Predrag Sekulić and the member of the Delegation, Mr Ervin Ibrahimović, participated in the Conference of the Parliamentary Network on Diaspora Policies, held on 18 September 2019 in Amman, Jordan.
The Conference on "The Economic Potential of Diasporas" was organised by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Parliament of Jordan.
Views on the role of the diaspora in fostering development cooperation and regional integration were exchanged at the Conference, as well as its contribution to economic development of countries of origin, especially with regard to promotion of foreign investment, knowledge transfer and technological development.
Aside from the members of this parliamentary network, conference participants included representatives of international organisations, diaspora associations and academics.
The Parliamentary Network on Diaspora Policies was founded in 2017 as a platform of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for establishing and conducting political dialogue and exchanging views and good practices among MPs dealing with diaspora issues at national and international level.
